Procreate is much more intuitive to use where Affinity buries so much functionality in menus and icons. Designer is lit for vector work though. Vectornator seems one of the best vectors for the price (aka free) they have just released a new update. For painting I’d definitely say.

I switched from Photoshop to Affinity Designer about a year ago now, Procreate and Pixaki/Aseprite (pixel art) more than Affinity Photo. I am thinking about either buying Designer for my Mac or buying an iPad Pro and getting Procreate. I am terrible at drawing free hand and that is my. Procreate is also marketed more heavily as digital painting tool than image manipulation / photo editing tool. While photoshop can certainly do that, it is not.
